Water contamination causes critical system problems
Water contamination in oil systems is responsible for major maintenance and operational problems in lubrication and hydraulic circuits, including:
Increased corrosion, especially at bearing locations
Increased oil oxidation and acid build-up
Sluggish response of control systems
Removing free water is not enough
Field experience shows that removing only free water using centrifuges or coalescers does not protect against corrosion and fluid degradation.
To ensure proper system protection, both free water and dissolved water must be controlled.
Free water vs dissolved water
In typical oil systems, temperature variations continuously affect dissolved water levels.
At the reservoir:

Both free and dissolved water must be removed

Otherwise, dissolved water may become free water when oil cools
This is especially critical when oil passes through cooler parts of the system.

The HLP6 purifier is designed to:

Remove up to 80% of dissolved water and gases

Remove solid contaminants with 99.9% efficiency (down to 3 microns)
